Definitely FDisk the drives on a Windows PC.. I've seen problems myself if
the drive/drives originated from another RAQ/Qube and were not FDisk'd

Like Bill mentioned.. delete all of the partitions.  You might even exit
Fdisk and run it again to verify that there are truly no partitions to make
absolutely sure no partitions exist (especially since you seem to be having
so much trouble).

Also do not create any new partitions.. let the RAQ restore handle all of
that for you.

FYI - Are these drives "Used" or older?  I had some similar results with
what turned out to be a flaky second hard drive in a Raq4r.  Something to
consider.  Lastly double check your drives jumper settings to make sure both
drives are set to Master (I assume that your using drive cables with
connector for a single drive, if not make sure you have the drive on the
correct connector position).

Just use Fdisk on a win pc to delete all of the partitions.
