If you build the original drive with PQ's Drivecopy (it will correctly copy 
the boot kernel then you can just make the home partition small. Should 
work fine.

I would use PQ magic to resize the home part on an existing cobalt 
drive  to fit then use DC to dupe the drive to the 4gig. DC will size up 
but not down.
