I pull the transfers.  I don't use (and in fact I don't think I've ever
seen) the backup script you've mentioned.  I suppose I should look at
it, though; maybe I can stop reinventing wheels <smile>.  I simply tar
up the entire /home/cmu/system.example.com" directory structure, and
move it to the backup system.  We use private IP# space inside our
network; in effect, by creating new files in network-scripts we've
created a private network inside our rack-space, and we move files
pretty quickly, even when they're quite large.
