RE: [cobalt-users] RAQ4R Lockup/Crash and Over Heating??

Thanks for the info..

Couldn't even get a console connection or any response from the unit till
powered off and restarted.

I checked the /var/log/messages and the only thing that I noticed was
someone trying every single IP on the box with anonymous FTP connection.
Darn those Frenchy's. I swear every time I've checked logs and found
similar activity it all seems to come from a *.fr location.

I know this may be a little extreme but is there any way to completely block
traffic from a entire country code like .fr ??

FYI - I've been checking the Raq's temp from time to time all day and it's
been consistently in the mid 30's 35-38^ C. Tonight it's actually dropped
down to the mid 20's but I attribut that mostly to the co-location dropping
their thermostat at night.

** The fans actually seem to be kicking out more air than on another Raq
next door.. not sure about the actual fan rpm though.

A silly question but I don't remember how to run "TOP". Can you give me a
quick overview??

Thanks!!

Jerry

Could the RaQ have been busy doing something? If this should happen
again be sure to check both top and /proc/cpuinfo.

Fwiw, the Raq should run cooler with the cover on than off, as long as
the fans are running at the proper speed.

A bunch of log files, most off of /var/log.
