I think you nailed this one! I was at 29 total sites. Even after
searching I'm still confused about the exact nature of this. Is it a
Cobalt issue, a Redhat issue, a Linux issue, or an FTP issue? I'm
thinking that it's a proftpd limitation.
My workaround was crude but effective. Some of my recently added sites
really aren't needed yet, so I just deleted a few that I don't really
need right now.
And all seems to be well again with FTP. One thing that I don't
unsderstand though, the problem seemed to affect ALL sites, not just the
new ones.
