Hi,
Could someone kindly clarify with me about a recent patch released by
Sun.
On the RaQ4 download page, there is a patch with the following info...
IMAP Update 2.0.1
HTTP RaQ4-All-Security-2.0.1-14936.pkg Posted: October 14, 2002
FTP Point your FTP client to ftp://ftp.cobalt.sun.com Size: 2,115,725
This patch fixes a Remote Buffer Overflow in imapd.
Reboot Required: No
MD5 Check Sum: e6e1acac14b5699068cff28ec374c332
However this patch is no longer available - instead there is a patch
called RaQ4-All-Security-2.0.2-14936.pkg released on the 4th November.
Could someone please confirm that I should be installing the newer
version. Yes I know it sounds logical, but these are Cobalt/Sun patches
we are talking about ;)
BTW - saw that there is a new kernel posted on the 5th Dec -
RaQ4-All-Kernel-2.0.1-2.2.16C33III-1.pkg - so I guess this will be on
the download page shortly.
If we should be installing the latest version of the above patch, and if
anyone has a contact at Sun regarding the download page, perhaps they
could let them know, otherwise users are going to skip that patch.
Kind Regards,
Ian
