i'm am having the above problem when sending mail to certain ISPs from my
machine.
not strictly Cobalt related but i can't seem to find a answer for this
anywhere.
there are only a couple of domains on my machine that are all setup like
this for mail:
namerserver.com -> ip.ad.re.ss
ns.nameserver.com -> ip.ad.re.ss
mail.nameserver.com -> ip.ad.re.ss
mail.domain.com -> ip.ad.re.ss
domain.com mail is sent to the High priority mail server
mail.domain.com
now what i think is happening from trawling the web is that the ISP is doing
a reverse lookup on mail.domain.com and finding that my IP is actually
nameserver.com and not domain.com and hence rejecting the mail.
i could change the server domain to domain.com (it wasn't set up like this
because domain.com was not registered when we set up the server) but for
various reasons i don't really want to do this.
i'm thinking that i could just set up the mail like this:
domain.com mail is sent to the High priority mail server
mail.nameserver.com
and this would solve the problem. am i right?
cheers
