Hm. According to the RaQ manual, I don't see any way to get a console
on it for general use, just for when first installing it.
You may also end up with a ruined hard drive due to the power surge,
which will not allow any service to start. In that case you will have
to replace the hard drive.
True, but if the HD were toast, it wouldn't likely boot up and respond
to pings, would it? :)
