I am not sure if "it's needed", but I know it was in the DNS tutorial I went through when first setting up DNS services on my RaQ's. I have never run any domains without both MX records....
I always thought it was so you could get mail at user@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx - but without it, we still get that kind of mail.
Maybe someone else can let you know if it's needed to not.... If not....this thread has taught me something today that will save a little bit of time down the road..... :)
That's how I feel on the reverse PTR, I just finished deleting about 150 DNS entries, 2 for each domain, so now my reverse lookup list is about 10 entries, which may not even be needed, but I'll leave them in.
Anyone have comments on the 2 MX records? Thanks for the assistance, Jale
