OK - Nothing is overwriting the DNS settings on Boot-up, they are still
there in etc/resolv.conf

There's another problem, and this is something that I've suspected, the
admin server process is not starting. When I start it manually I get the
message: 
Invalid certificate for main site -- not starting SSL
/usr/sbin/httpd.admserv

And it still doesn't seem to be running. I don't recall ever having a
certificate? What did I do now? ={:^o

Once again - any and all suggestions would be welcome...
