Hi,
I was checking the disk usage on a raq4 today and noticed that one of my own
sites was using a large amount of disk space (823.6mb). On further
investigation I found that it was mainly in the sites log dir:
du --max-depth=1
693211 ./logs
/home/sites/site23/logs
drwxr-s--- 2 nobody site23 1024 Oct 24 06:12 .
drwxrwx--x 10 nobody site23 1024 May 25 17:08 ..
-rw------- 1 root site23 85528 Jun 9 04:02 ftp.cache
-rw-r--r-- 1 root site23 744102 Jun 9 04:02 ftp.log
-rw-r--r-- 1 root site23 87169 Jun 9 04:02 ftp.stats
-rw------- 1 root site23 112139 Oct 23 04:04 mail.cache
-rw------- 1 root site23 112565 Oct 24 04:04 mail.cache.new
-rw-r--r-- 1 root site23 508691 Oct 24 04:04 mail.log
-rw-r--r-- 1 root site23 57477 Oct 24 04:04 mail.stats
-rw------- 1 root site23 108207545 Oct 23 04:29 web.cache
-rw------- 1 root site23 110886786 Oct 24 04:55 web.cache.new
-rw-r--r-- 1 root site23 484227728 Oct 24 04:06 web.log
-rw-r--r-- 1 root site23 2027206 Oct 24 06:12 web.stats
The site is quite a busy site compared to others on my servers
The stats for yesterdays traffic is
(From webalizer)
Hits 30686
Files 27072
Pages 18286
Visits 1085
Sites 787
Is this kind of log size normal or is something going wrong?
Thanks
Mark Roebuck
