A few questions... helpful comments appreciated... abuse for being an idiot
not necessary.
I was trying messing with the server and tried to install a module to Perl
via CPAN when it upgraded my Perl to 5.8 (YES I know that is a VERY bad
thing) now when I try to use the GUI to administer the virtual sites
(Add,Modify, edit users) it doesn't let me and there is no error messages
are given. I looked through /var/logs/ the didn't find any thing.
I tried a downgrad to perl 5.6 from the Cobalt distribution I did notice
several library directories that did not get included in the @INC. This is
probably a RTFM question but how can I set these to include the proper ones?
That being said the server is still running fine for the users. HOWEVER now
I've notices the Postgre daemon is NOT running and giving and error of:
-----------------------
Setting up PostgreSQL: /usr/bin/postmaster does not find the database
system.
Expected to find it in the PGDATA directory "/var/lib/pgsql/data",
but unable to open file "/var/lib/pgsql/data/global/pg_control": No such
file or directory
-----------------------
I am under the understanding that the data for the UI is stored in
PostgreSQL. Which could be the real cause of my problem of the UI
A final question can I use a 3rd party UI such as Webmin to manage the
server till a time where I can get the time to rebuild the server and get
the Cobalt UI working again?
Thanks
