Have a RAQ4R that had a drive fail on it and we have followed the
instructions for replacing the drive (and have done so with an identical
drive). The drives are 20 GB.
Any way the concern is how long it's taking for the system to come back up..
we replaced the drive this evening around 5 p.m. and re-powered the system
and it booted up ran through some RAID restructuring routines (displayed on
the LCD) and then went on stating in the LCD display that it was checking
the drive.
The concern is that it seems to be taking so long for the system to come
back up.. it's now been nearly 5 1/2 hours and the system is still not up
and is not pingable (the server is at a co-lo site with no after hours techs
to check the LCD).
Any feed back about how long the rebuild process may take as well as if this
is normal for the system not to boot up and then rebuild the new drive on
the fly would be appreciated.
