3) You have to make it or order it from "Maplin" or others will have
it.
Check Google for "crossover cable". There are several sites
explaining how to make one.

This may be just a touch off topic, but it may help some of us, in
option 3 above, you say "try a direct connect cross over cable".
Question, is there a difference between a crossover cable and a patch
cable? I notice in my PC parts catalog, they are listed in 2 places, 1
for patch and another for cross over, but both being the same price.
At a well known national COMP(usa)uter store that will remain nameless,
I asked the same question and 3 clerks/tech's were unable to answer that
question and was hoping someone here could, at least for the archives.
