Yes, this is definitely a concern. Double-check that both ends of the
IDE cable are properly seated, etc. Also check that you didn't bust off
a pin when changing hard drives. Beyond that, I'm not sure. The fact
that your drive is showing up as hdB is worrisome as well; the main HD
_should_ be hdA (caps mine for emphasis), and a second hard drive is
hdC. Check the jumper settings on your drive; it should be set to
Master or Single Drive. If you have it jumpered to be a slave, it might
cause some weirdness as well...
