Are you getting emails from logsentry (logcheck)?
   maybe indicate a problem.
Are you running fcheck, from a cron job?
does it indicate files have been changed?
Are you running chkrootkit from a cron job?
does it indicate that you may be hacked?
Do you have portsentry installed?, maybe it locked you out.
Do you have lcap installed?

When all else fails get the OSRCD out.
