We had the similar problem when we used a Restore CD that Cobalt mailled us
via the post. It looked as though it was starting the install process but
the LCD screen just didn't change.

We resorted to using an older CD that we had around, and that progress
through pretty speedily.

You might want to see whether there is any other ISO image that you can get
you hands on from Sun, or elsewhere.
