Re: [cobalt-users] how do you check CPU speed? (nm, found it, update works)

yes, you can just do the speed. but if the raq doesn't have anything on it of
super importance, I recommend going ahead are restoring the raq4 OS. Since
the case will be open, you might as well as throw in some ram, too. you can
get 512 megs for under $100 now.

Thanks. I have a 512meg SDRAM sitting on my desk ready to go in this weekend; it is a VERY up and running system that I'd prefer to not mess too much with the OS since it has been VERY good and stable for quite a while doing just what I need. I put in (2) 30gig drives and I periodically run dd to copy partitions from one to other as on-line backup ... but a CPU upgrade for the increased speed is certainly something I'd be up for.

I didn't start looking as yet, does anyone have any great ideas on where to find these CPU's? With what AMD's stock did yesterday, maybe they should make a few hundred of these for RAQ people needing them, could be a big sales boost compared to what they are showing ... if I had a few thousand $$ I'd probably buy some AMD at around $3/share :)

Thanks again,
Jale
