SOLVED RE: [cobalt-users] 10061 pop error

Yup - that is all the stuff I've been looking for, and not of the files are there, I even deleted and recreated the user (which probably would not have necessarily cleaned up all their hanging-around files).

There are no .*pop* or *lock files to delete, that is what I thought was going to solve this one.

Any other ideas?

Okay, you, as a collective group, as fantastically helpful, very smart, and probably good looking; but this one was the odd ball one.

The owner of the /home/spool/mail/emailuser file was bad. The owner should be the same as the user-id (emailuser name), but it somehow set to 856. When I chown'd to the right name, all started working just fine. I am the only one with access to this server ... and it changed at around 3:30AM and on only this one file. I know the time because my error logs in my special mailer program said that at around 3:30AM it started getting the 10061 errors.

I admit it, I am really lame about going to the archives - I'm going to book mark them as a reminder to look there, even if my answer wasn't there. At least this should make it there for the next person who doesn't look there either.

Thanks, as always,
Jale
