Another list member was kind enough to send me short write-up on pop lock
problems that was along the lines of what I was looking for.
Here is what it had:
--------------------
There most likely is a pop lockfile for the user. The lockfile will be
in the format .username.pop where username is the name of the account
running into this problem in the /var/spool/mail directory. Telnet into
your server and change to the
/var/spool/mail directory and type ls -al
--------------------
I always remembered these files being in /var/spool/mail - and I see them
for other users, and they are properly deleted after a short time. This
particular user does not have the lock file ... maybe I am mistaken in what
the 10061 means. I'll look into that further now, if anyone knows right off
hand what it means please let me know.
Thanks,
Jale
