Virtual PC is a PC Emulation environment for Windows, Mac & OS/2 (sorry
guys), most of our web development is done using the Macromedia
products, so we have plenty of PCs running Windoze (I know, yuk).
Anyhow, I have found that I can boot the OS Restore CDs under VPC and
get a good solid connection to the RaQs using KTI 10/100 NICS most of
the time. Sometimes I have to reboot and try again, but not often. You
can get VPC without an OS (comes with PC-DOS as I recall), just boot it
like a regular machine with the OS Restore CD in host drive.

For more info on Virtual PC, see
http://www.connectix.com/products/vpc5w.html. Love this product, makes
my life very easy. Best part is the undoable hard drives. I have base
installations for all the PC OS's I deal with (Linux and several
varieties of Windoze) and when I'm done testing a program, I just undo
the drive and it reverts to the original installed state.
