I believe you can limit Webalizer's scope in the .conf files, the
info on that is buried in the Webalizer site.

My experience on a RaQ so far is that the log are the logs, they
take up space no matter what. If you rotate them, they'll still take
up space as they grow. If you dump them, there's no (up to) 12 month
history for Webalizer to use in comparison to the basic stats from
the RaQ.

Webalizer only makes up one large HTML file, essentially, that
interprets the logs and it shouldn't take up that much of the quota for
the site that your users complain. All our present users have access
to their Webalizer 2.X stats daily and we haven't had a single complaint
as far as their webspace allotment being sucked dry by having Webalizer
running for their virtual sites.

I can say, however, that if you have the FrontPage extensions turned
on for all users and sites as a stock setting, you're losing 8.4MB per
Site and per User for each FP extension set. We only turn on the FP
options for those who request it specifically, and even then only for
their users that actually NEED it. If the virtual site only has one
main author using FP and no sub-users doing any web work in their space
allotment, then we ensure the FP pack is deactivated and the almost 9MB
of space is returned for general use. If you have a virtual site with
5 users, you're dumping close to 50MB of space just for FP extensions
that 90% of the time will go unused.

I'll check our servers again to see if Webalizer's doing that much
damage, but I can't remember seeing more than 1MB gone that isn't normally
taken up by logs.

	HTH!
