We also have grabbed random sites to find that the backup only seemed to be
doing it's job. Thing is when you do the CMU import from a backup,
EVERYTHING is there. I noticed (On a Mac) that when we uncompress the files
we would get errors. I do remember reading about this and your issue was
brought up. Not sure where I read it. But I believe you still have a viable
backup. Just reading it from a Win box or Mac makes it seem different. Try
to open the files on a Linux environment and you will see everything is
there.
