That is correct; a patch is required for an error in the files. See:

...which contains the changed files; I found that to be much easier for
most people to apply. FEATURE(`dnsbl') doesn't require the patch, of course,
but this small patch makes a heck of a lot more sense than trying to kludge a
different version of sendmail into the machine.
