In Red Hat installation manuals. But it's not a requirement, and in
fact, according to most Linux gurus, not "good to do" at all.
For example, if you've got a 128 meg machine with a swap file/partition
of twice that you've got total available machine memory of 384 meg. If
you've got a 512 meg machine why would you need a total memory of 1.5
gigs?
In practice we've never created more than one gig including swap, and on
systems with a gig or more of memory we usually don't even bother with a
swap file/partition (I don't think automatic Red Hat install lets you
leave it off, though).
