I use Dantz Retrospect <http://www.dantz.com/> with my Qube3s.
Up until v6.0, I've had to be satisfied with doing backups of just the SAMBA
shares but v6.0 Multi Server comes with a Linux client. Hence it works much
the same as the Legato, Arkeia, and Veritas backup solutions. The big
difference is cost and easy of use.
Install is via a rpm and then all the "action" happens on the Windows PC.
Backups can be written to any media supported by Retrospect ... I use
external firewire drives, CDRW, and VXA tape.
Dantz's greatest feature is RESTORE ... it works. Doing backups is
pointless unless you can restore.
