I'm glad this has come as its reminded of when I tried it through the GUI - if you go to maintenance and then storage on a RaQ4 sure enough it will show you what storage there is but no button for add storage - it doesn't seem to be intelligent if you add a drive that the button pops up but yet I am sure I remembered seeing it in the past was it on the RaQ3 and somehow didn't fully migrate to the RaQ4 as you are supposed to be able to add a second drive to the RaQ4.
I added a second IDE drive to my RaQ4i by inserting a new drive, powering up the system, and choosing "add storage"... I enter the volume name and that's all there is to it. From then on, whenever you add a new virtual site, you get to choose which volume it goes on -- "home" (default disk) or your own new volume.
I have not ever tried it with an external SCSI disk, but from what I was led to believe way back during SE pre-release training on RaQ4 it should work the same way with a SCSI drive. I don't have a SCSI drive to test it with now...
