The hosting provider that was chosen (www.dedicated-servers.co.uk) does not
have https or ssh installed. They emailed us the root password and told
us not to change it.

Need less to say we're pissed off and want to leave them without using
the service. Does cobalt come with these options and they've just not bothered to install them?
