I have a catchall which seems to work just fine. It is set up as an email
alias @www.domain.com
My problem is setting up a vacation message "domain wide".  The owner of
this domain tends not to use the username of the catchall as his return
address, so the catchall is used  to collect virtually 100% of the email
sent to the domain.  When we set up the vacacion message on the catchall
account it will only work when the message is sent to that username, not
when it is sent to the name the message was actually sent to.  Wow, this
seems really hard to explain.
