[cobalt-users] [RAQ4] Adding SSL messes up virtualhost config

I have client running several domains on the same site, they have a dedicated IP address.

Each domain was merely aliased in the apache config (httpd.conf), with the exception of ONE, which he wanted setup with a different DocumentRoot. This one domain had it's own VirtualHost directive on the same IP. Things worked fine, until this client requested SSL.

On adding SSL to the site (turn it on using the GUI, generate the CSR and email it to the client) - the sites on the server ceased responding.

Investigation showed that a warning was occuring that there were two entries for the IP address:

[Fri Aug 16 17:58:22 2002] [warn] VirtualHost 66.33.85.250:443 overlaps with VirtualHost 66.33.85.250:443, the first has precedence, perhaps you need a NameVirtualHost directive

This would be fine if it were simply a warning - but it's actually fatal - or so it appears! Apache simply doesn't start correctly!

So I tried putting a NameVirtualHost before the VirtualHost for the secondary domain entry - no avail.

Any ideas how to resolve this properly?

The secondary domain needs to point inside a sub-folder of the main documentroot - I'm having a bad friday...
