[cobalt-users] Raq3 & IMAP/POP

I have a Raq3. Recently I followed the procedure to get rid of
the posgres error from the vacuumdb run whuch says something
like: :number of tublesw differs from index". Immediately upon
doing so I started getting errors both in /var/log/maillog and
/var/log/messages regarding attempts by Active-Monitor to check
on the status of IMAP and POP. The problem is I don't have
either running on the Raq3. Additionally I can find no way via
that aadmin FUI to turn IMAP or POP on or off.

I looked at the cobalt.dump produced by the previously reference
procedure to get rid of the tuplesw vs. index problem and I noticed
that for the services table, both IMAP and POP were set to "On".
I changed the settings for both to 'Off" and reloaded the cobalt database.
When I tried to use the Active Monitor to check to make sure that the
now showed that these two services were not active, the admin GUI
went into some sort of a hard loop. I was completely locked out of
the box. I could log on with telnet and further attemps to acces the
admin GUI timed-out. Attempts to access the normal web site(s0 also
timed-out. I have to have my co-loc vendor reboot the machine.

My questions are:

1. How does one control IMAP and POP on a Raq3?
2. Was my logic in modifying the settinging for thes
services in the cobalt.dump and then reloading
   the database some how flawed?
3. How can I get rid of the flurry of IMAP and POP
related messages that occurs every 15 minutes.

Note prio to me "playing" with the cobalt database, the
messages about IMAP and POP did not occur.
