RE: [cobalt-users] 404 resolved

I too recently wanted to setup a custom 404 page (interestingly, after
I did that, I saw the article "Making Mistakes Well" in
_New_Architect_Magazine
(www.newarchitectmag.com) saying "increase online revenue with
contingency
design" by adding such a custom 404 page.

I tried the .htaccess first, and had problems with it, like you did, so
instead the documentation I found said you could modify
/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf and change/add the line (at the appropriate
spot)

ErrorDocument 404 /404.shtml

which does work. The slash in the file name apparently is important.
I dont know if this is the recommended way to do this, but I needed
something
that worked quickly ...

Doesn't work... I get a "The server encountered an internal error or
misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request." cobalt error
message.
