Most likely a dumb question, however I did not see anything in the
archives.
I received notice today that Sun/Cobalt put out the "Security Hardening
patch for the Sun Cobalt RaQ 4 server appliance"
(RaQ4-en-Security-2.0.1-SHP.pkg) which includes port scan detection and
buffer overflow detection. After examing the details of the patch, it
appears that this is very similar to the PortSentry/LogSentry apps. I
currently have both installed and functioning on my Raq 4i. I would like
to install the official patch, but do not want any conflicts with the
existing installation of PortSentry/LogSentry. What to do? I could a)
attempt uninstallation of PortSentry/LogSentry, b) install the patch and
cross my fingers without removing PortSentry/LogSentry, c) do nothing...
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
Tony
