Running 2 Raq4i's, both have up-to-date patches....every few hours or so
(I haven't timed it so I can't be sure), the following problem occurs....I
go into the server admin control panel, click Control Panel, then Network,
and notice that the "Sun Cobalt Server Name" is blank, and what _was_ in
this field is now appended to the front of the domain name (in the field
"Domain Name"). Oaky, so I make the change.....add "ns1" to "Sun Cobalt
Server Name" and change "Domain Name" back to
"my-server-domain-name.com"......click Save Changes, and everything is
okay....for a while. A few hours later..."Sun Cobalt Server Name" is once
again blank, etc, etc..... Is this NORMAL? It doesn't appear so to
me...... And not only does this change occur, it apparently writes over
the resolv.conf file, thus voiding any changes I may have made manually to
that file. Help please....as this causes DNS and SENDMAIL problems between
the 2 servers......

Mike
This is happening on both machines?
You have them both set with the same name?
sure you aren't making a change in your manual changes that effects it?
