I'm having the exact same problem. I spent two full afternoons reading
thru and printing out the archives discussing this issue. When testing the
suggested steps on an updated virgin RaQ4 (fresh OS restore + all
SunCobalt patches only) with the pkgmaster openwebmail, I still cannot get
rid of the www. I've tried modifying openwebmail.conf globally and in
sites.conf... I've tried some of the other suggestions. The fix seems to
be simple for some folks, but on my machine it doesn't make any difference
on new -or- existing accounts... on new -or- existing domains.

I've given up for now and am using a modified version of NeoMail. I would
love to use OpenWebMail, but it just isn't working for me or any of my
staff.
