Hang on a minute.... not that I'm a zealot or anything, but that just
wouldn't be fair.  That would be analagous to taking your car to the shop
and saying "I don't know why the stupid thing won't start.  Fix it!"  but
you didn't mention that you swapped out the engine last week because you
wanted to go faster and it hasn't run since.

Furthermore, if you don't give a tech all the information, how can you
expect him to be at all helpful?  You're just wasting his time (and yours.)

When you monkey with a box that was never intended to be user-upgradable,
you run the risk of destroying it.  Getting help from other enthusiasts to
try and resurrect your experiment is one thing, but calling the manufacturer
to help with a project they don't endorse?  C'mon Jerry.... you know better
than that.
