sorry the word shit can conjur flaming. i see it and hear it all the time in
usa movies, and sorry if this upsets you good folk.

still need to know how one tells a client to go to http:// addy without
their sit ebeing resolved .

You most likely will get flamed for your language and attitude for your
first post.

If you are using Windows, find the file called "hosts"
After the last line, which is probably something like 127.0.0.1
add a line that has the ip and the url with a tab between them as in
XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX www.domain.com
