[cobalt-users] Strange IP problem

Hello,

I have the following. For my modified forum I want to
analyze the IP numbers of messages. Normally, that is not a
problem at all. But in this case it is. 

There some (I think visitor) particular hits, where the IP
and Host information is empty. The IP function is
producing, in that case, the string 'unknown' (RAQ4 with
all updates). With other hits, everything is ok.
Can anybody give me information about how it is done? What
can I do to receive additional information to analyze the
person on IP information? Somehow I think the reply is
going to the right person. In case the reply is going
somwhere else.... can extract information from that
information.

Can anybody help me with more information.

The information is used for a module, which anables the
administrator to set particular rules on the
forum/guestbook or whatever. This needs some finetuning.
