I tried it this way and still get indexing :(

Hi,

edit the file
/etc/httpd/conf/access.conf

and change the line

Options Indexes FollowSymLinks Includes MultiViews

to

Options -Indexes FollowSymLinks Includes MultiViews

Save it and then restart apache
(/etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd restart)
