Yep... which is why I have an aliases.local file.  (Beware; if you're
going to do this you must create a link to it in sendmail.cf; it won't
work by itself.)

I'm not sure what you mean about "you must create a link to it
in sendmail.cf". All I do is have an additional entry specifying
"AliasFile=<filename"
