And I agree with both. The archives are very effective if you remember who
posted what you're looking for. eg. I've lost my root MySQL password. A
search for Werby and lost mysql password returns this, the very first link.

Unfortunately, people new to the list aren't familiar with Steve's extensive
knowledge of MySQL or him for that matter. I think it's fair to say that the
archives are very powerful to people who have been on the list for a while
and somewhat confusing to newcomers. I'm not sure what the solution is
though.
