They propably announced it to YOU, Dan.
NSI/Verisign has been weaning themselves off templates, account by
account, for over a year now.
We've got a few admin contact handles; one was moved from templates to
web-based over a year ago, and on another we just got a message about
two weeks ago.
On the first one, they never did send the password and it took us weeks
to get them to send it again so we could modify our domains; they were
going to send it and said it would take a month, so while I was on the
phone with the rep, I started moving domains, one-by-one to another
registrar; I must have moved about ten (telling him verbally the name of
each one) before he got approval to give me the password over the phone
<wry grn>).
This one only has maybe two or three domains left in it; I'll move them
within the next week or two.
We're affiliated with the only registrar that makes it easy to move
domains from NSI; we keep reading horror stories on ISP-DNS about how
hard it is to do, but with our registration service it's ALWAYS gone
through <smoothly>; we just moved nine domains for a client and we just
keep on doing it <smile>.
This post is quite offtopic; all followups should go to either ISP-DSL
(see http://www.isp-dns.com/) or by private reply <smile>.
