Re: [cobalt-users] Thank you for help - errors after Cobalt updates

did you use the "su -" command to become root user before trying this?

If you are "root", then it should work for you. See below for an example.

--SNIP--
Cobalt Linux release 6.5.1 (Monterey)
Kernel 2.2.16C32_V on an i686
login: admin
Password:
Last login: Mon Jul 1 10:27:49 on http

[admin admin]$ su -
Password:

[root /root]# /usr/sbin/httpd -v
Server version: Apache/1.3.20 Sun Cobalt (Unix)
Server built: Jun 20 2002 17:41:13

--END SNIP---

I am running a Raq XTR, and I cut out the code about the warranty and
damages and such, but everything else is intact.

I don't understand what Cobalt is doing here though... It looks as if the
Raq 3/4 people got a newer build of Apache, but even after the security
update I still show to have 1.3.20 on my server. Does anyone know what their
plans are for the XTR?

Chris Lathem

Er, it doesn't appear to be in my path either. I have to call that command
as
/usr/sbin/httpd -v
I have not monkeyed with the system either, just let the packages do their
stuff.
Will this cause a problem at all, or is it just an inconweenience ?
