Adding his email domain to your relay list won't do anything, as your
server will be using whatever domain he's part of when he connects to the
internet (either his ISP's domain or his company's domain if connecting
from a corporate LAN).
His email client (for sending) should ideally be configured to use his
ISP's SMTP server for sending through. If not, you can create an account
for him in your domain, and he can use POP-Before-SMTP authentication to
relay out through your server.
