How odd, I've just checked the email from root on 2 RaQ4's and I receive it
with a From field of:
From: root <root@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

How are you redirecting email from root? I simply modify /etc/mail/aliases
and added a line after:
root:    admin
newline added:
admin:    me@xxxxxxxxxxxx
then of course do a:
newaliases

It comes through fine.
