Thanks for your reply I'll pass on your comments to the customer, PHP &
MySQL is on the list of things to brush up on but haven't had time because
of design work - can't complain it pays the bills and server fees :)
Customer has just got back to me, he's rewritten some of the original code
without the fopen call and it's working - the only problem we have now is
that when the script moves it from the tmp folder it gives the file the
following permissions...
filename.jpg rw....... httpd root
