Well, not RaQ related, but it may help....
I spent last night swearing at a Win PC that wouldn't restore or do an OEM
OS load. Long story short, the drive was bad. I would fdisk and format the
drive, reboot and run the OEM OS install only to find that the 2 copies of
the FAT were different even though it was a fresh format... Worked fine
until you rebooted. That plus 121K of bad sectors got me thinking... Been a
long time since I have seen a drive with bad sectors that is still good. Was
norm in the old days but not anymore. Swapped in a new drive and bingo - no
more problems.
Its probably not the problem, but it was so fresh in my mind from last
night, thought I would pass it along.
