You also might want to look at the system if this is an already running
system??

Try vmstat 1 for an hour or so (some reasonable amount of time) and
watch the fields under swap.. 

The so under swap for swap out is probably the most useful.  If you see
lots of so and a reasonable amount of si than you system is memory shy
and the extra memory could be useful..
