The Interbase fork is called FireBird, you will find info at 
http://www.ibphoenix.com. They are actually evolving faster then Interbase, 
though Interbase is alive and well. Borland just released version 6.5, with 
some interesting new features, like replication, BTW, Interbase is not GPLd. 
It has it's own licence, called IPL, which is a slightly modified Mozzilla PL.
