Well if you have taken them out of your RaQ already then the warranty
from Sun is no good I believe but worry not for the last 5 years I have
had excellent service from Seagate, Quantum and IBM directly - Seagate
even let you do the RMA online and then ship - the identical spec drive
is shipped back within 7 seven days even really old stuff (sadly no
upgrades) I believe all three suppliers let you do warranty lookups on
the site and most of them offer 3 years warranty so even when your RaQ
is over a year the most likely part for failure is covered.

Quantum now seems to be handled by www.maxtor.com look at services,
product support

www.ibm.com do a search on rma hard drives in the main search and you
should get http://www.storage.ibm.com/warranty/jsp/arma51.jsp which
works

Just a view of the wider world

PS I saw a mention of Carley Korchinsky - who was awesome in her ability
to bend the rules within the EMEA, I believe may now not be handling
this area if still at Sun but please bear in mind her role only
encompassed Europe etc
